Theodore D. Gearhart, 83, of South Bend, passed away on Thursday, February 4th in his residence, with his caregiver by his side.
Theodore was born in South Bend on March 14, 1926 to the late Raymond and Lucille (Kline) Gearhart. He was a proud veteran, serving in the US Army during WWII and was discharged in 1945. On March 2, 1957, in South Bend he married Bonnie J. Dankard. She preceded him in death on July 25, 2006. He was also preceded in death by his son, Dennis, in 1966.
Theodore was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church, A member of the VFW Post #360, and the American Legion Post #303. He retired from Studebaker after 18 years and was a Machinist at Wheelabrator form 18 years. He is survived by his caregivers, Janet and Phil Stephens.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 9th in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., from 1 until 2pm. A service celebrating Theodore's life will be held at 2 in the funeral chapel. Officiating will be Fr. Cornellius Ryan. Burial is to follow in the St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Little Flower Catholic Church of South Bend.
